Level 2 Defect Notice Diagnostic
Turn an Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy defect notice into a safety priority, due-date status, likely workstream, ASP2 capability guide, evidence checklist and indicative planning range before requesting a confirmed rectification scope.
Immediate electrical safety comes first
If there is fire, sparking, a fallen or damaged powerline, exposed live equipment, an electric shock or tingle, smoke or a burning smell, keep people clear and do not touch or approach the hazard. Call Triple Zero for fire or life-threatening danger and contact the electricity distributor before normal rectification planning.

Important authorisation and pricing boundary
Not every defect automatically requires a Level 2 ASP. NSW Level 2 work generally covers service lines between the network and point of connection, energising new or altered connections and certain network devices. The notice and site must be reviewed to confirm whether a licensed electrical contractor, appropriately authorised ASP2, vegetation contractor or multiple providers are required.
The diagnostic is not an electrical inspection, network clearance, compliance certificate or fixed quotation. Any cost range is an indicative planning screen based only on the answers supplied.
Level 2 defect diagnostic FAQs
Does every electrical defect notice require a Level 2 ASP?
No. The work boundary and affected asset determine whether a licensed electrical contractor, appropriately authorised ASP2, vegetation contractor or more than one provider is required.
Is the indicative range a quote?
No. Inspection, testing, access, outages, approvals, civil work and hidden conditions can change the final scope and price.
